Abbey Green - lasting benefits
Earlier information on the website makes mention of the results from our Regeneration Programme completed in 2003 in Abbey Green, Nuneaton. Here's the latest!

Warwickshire County Council contracted us to find out the long-term effects of the programme. So, almost 2 years after the programme ended we set about talking to each retailer again. And even we were surprised by the long-term effects of the Retail Regeneration Programme that we completed.

Here are just some of the remarkable figures

1. Over the last 2 years
   • Totals sales - up by 50% on the figures of 18 month ago (and this against a background of 'flat' UK retail sales)
   • Gross Profits - up by 20%
   • Employment - shops still recruiting more staff
   • Training - shops continue to use external training courses to develop staff and management, in retail skills, IT and sector specific areas
2. Some shops are now working towards the Investors In People Award, others are progressing NVQ's... and on it goes.
3. The Abbey Green Retail Action Group is now a fully constituted body - still working closely with the local community. The A Green FunDay is now a permanent date in the local calendar.
4. There are now no empty retail properties in the area.

Now that's what we call lasting benefits.

Retail Workshop - Profit Improvement Workshops travel to Truro
Working on behalf of Tailor MaDe (Local colleges' Business Development team) Retail Workshop worked closely with the team to set up and deliver a whole day of actions and activities to help local independent retailers to highlight opportunities for improvements in sales and performance.
