Company Profile

The company was set up in 1991 by Paul Ford. Paul is a director in the business that can boast over 50 years retail experience between the two managing partners alone. That experience covering all aspects of the retail industry, from working a busy till on Saturdays to making a full contribution at board level - both in large national organisations and small independent business.

We now work successfully and mainly with independent retailers whether its a one off shop or a small group. Here are just some of our independent clients: 

Our list of consultancy and training clients alone now totals over 300 and is growing steadily. All of these clients have accessed one or a combination of our services and we can and do tailor them specifically to match their unique needs.

In addition we provide various services to (retail) trade organisations. Previous (and present) clients include National Pharmaceutical Association, Booksellers Associations, etc. We also provide our services to a number of Business Links, LSC's and Chambers, our consultants being registered through the Small Business Service.

A sister company Retail Workshop Software Ltd was formed in 1996 to develop business improvement software solutions for independent retailers. The company was awarded a prize in the DTI\DfEE 'Skills Challenge Award' for Pro£itmaker, our innovative program aimed at increasing retailing skills and improving retail profits. This has now been incorporated into Retail Workshop Ltd.
